"Anyone can build you a house... I can build you the home of your dreams."

What You Can Expect

  • Anyone can build you a house, I can build you the home of your dreams.          I pride myself on my artistic eye. I’ve never been able to draw or paint a beautiful picture but, I have a unique ability to take the canvas of a piece of land and create estates that look like beautiful pieces of art. Please see for yourself by viewing the photo galleries below of past projects.
  • Fast Build Time:                                      Typical time from foundation to finish is less than 1 year
  • Builder On Site:                                                 I will be on your project like white on rice. While other builders dedicate a few minutes a day to your project and maybe visit the site once or twice a week for 30 minutes or less, I am onsite for many hours every single day to ensure that nothing is missed, top quality standards are met, the jobsite is clean and organized, and the timeline moves along at an impressive pace.
  • When You Talk, I Listen:                                 I want the end result to be what YOU dream of. When you talk about your dreams for the project and show me inspiration photos, I will listen and then take your words and bring them to life.
  • White Glove Luxury Builder:                   What do I mean by that? I’m with you literally every step of the way. I don’t leave it to you to find the selections you want for your home and wish you the best of luck. You don’t have time for that confusion. I have countless supplier relationships and will personally go with you to every single appointment to make sure everything your home needs is touched by me.

Who You'll Be Partnering With

I’m Kyle Fernandez and I am the Owner of Ridgecrest Custom Homes Ventures, LLC. I am a native Texan from the Houston area and have lived in the Austin area since 2012. I am blessed with an absolutely beautiful wife inside and out named Nicole. Nicole was born and raised in the Austin area. Together we have a beautiful baby girl named Tillie Sue that was born in the summer of 2019. We live in Dripping Springs, TX and stay actively involved in our church and the community.  What sets Ridgecrest apart from the competition? It’s simple – I do not strive to be a high-volume builder like most of the other builders out there.  I only take on a select few projects at a time so that I can focus all my attention on the quality and schedule management of each individual project. I build your house with the same level of focus and passion that I would have while building my own. Before I started building homes myself, I experienced several times what it was like to have a builder that is more focused on volume. Those builders are rarely on site, they miss a lot of details, and quality and timelines suffer. That is why at Ridgecrest I limit my projects so that I can spend more time on site making sure that every detail is given the attention your home deserves and because I am on site, no details are overlooked and the project moves along at a pace that no other builders I know are able to deliver. Obviously, mother nature plays a significant role in construction but, our typical timeline from the day slab is poured to the day our homes are ready for move in is less than a year. That’s impressive given the fact that the homes we build are typically VERY large, VERY detailed, and VERY complex.

I know that if you’ve found my page you are most likely interviewing builders, as a builder I have a list of questions that I recommend you ask each candidate so that you can make the best decision. Please see that list below. Regarding you interviewing builders, I want to be up front and tell you that I also interview all of my potential clients and I am picky with which clients I take on. Building your home is a BIG DEAL and we have to be the right fit in order to partner on a project together. We are going to spend a lot of time together and work through big financial and emotional decisions, so the connection must be right. I joke that a builder at my level is 1/3 builder, 1/3 referee, and 1/3 marriage counselor. If you’ve ever built a home before you know exactly what I’m talking about! Most clients hate their builder by the end of a project but, at Ridgecrest, our clients all become extended family by the time they move in!

Thank you for visiting the Ridgecrest website! We hope to one day add you to the Ridgecrest family! If you have any additional questions or would like to schedule a meet and greet – please contact me directly!

Sincerely,

Kyle Fernandez

Questions To Ask Builders

  • How many projects do they take on at a time?                                                            The more they take on at a time, the more divided their attention is on your home which will cause them to miss details and take a LONG time to build your home.
  • What geographic region are their projects in?                                                This will tell you how much they are on the road and NOT focused on your project
  • What is their average start to finish timeline?
  • How many hours per week do they supervise ON SITE?                                  This is of paramount importance. Trust me, if they aren’t on site for many hours per day – your project will suffer in every conceivable way. Mistakes will abound and the job-site will look like a dumpster.
  • How involved are they directly in selection meetings?                              Most builders don’t go to selection meetings. They tell you who to go see and wish you the best of luck. Trust me, selection meetings are critical and I couldn’t fathom not being present at every single one. Questions always abound during those meetings and if the builder isn’t there to answer questions, communicate capabilities, and plan inevitable changes – complete chaos will soon follow.
  • What do they market as their cost to build per sf versus what their average cost per sf ends up being upon completion?                                                   If a builder quotes you a cost to build per sf before seeing your plans and spending a lot of time discussing your vision for the project – don’t walk away, RUN AWAY. The numbers they are quoting you are simply a bait and switch. Quite frankly, if it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is!
  • What is included in their pricing?    Some builders will tell you that they can build you a high end home for $175 per sf but, what does that price include? I can promise you it’s VERY basic builder grade stuff… cheap tile, cheap windows, no landscaping, no pool, etc. If a custom home is what you desire – the question of cost to build per sf is extremely difficult to answer without VERY detailed conversations.
  • How many direct employees do they have?                                                           This is typically another indication of volume. The more employees they have – the less you’ll see “the builder” and the more you’ll get the run around from people who don’t have the ultimate say so in decision making.
  • White Glove Luxury Builder:                                                                                           What do I mean by that? I’m with you literally every step of the way.
